San Gabriel High School invited our team to return and design, produce, and install high school gym wall graphics. Sure, there were some challenges, but we overcame them all – and the client loved the finished result.
Custom Wall Graphics for School Gymnasiums Boost Team Pride
Decals and lettering for the school’s gym walls are our third project for this client. Previously, we put up a
large mascot wall graphic decal in the school’s entrance area. Then, we added
cafeteria wall graphics that were a gift from the class of 2024.
The gym was recently painted and had a new floor installed. Now, the client asked us to recreate the old Alma Mater song and matador mascot that had to be removed prior to the painting. Additionally, the client was looking for long graphics stripes above the bleachers on each side of the court. Finally, the gym needed a giant matador decal on one side of the court.
Some challenges were associated with installing the giant vinyl wall logo decals.
Working Around Challenges with the Right Equipment, Innovation, and Teamwork
We would apply the graphics to walls with very rough stucco surfaces. Because we did a site survey ahead of time, we knew about this potential challenge and adjusted the type of 3M vinyl we used. Next, we needed
a scissor lift to handle the installation. Because we invested in this technology – and have used it successfully over the years – this challenge was overcome.
How could we place the scissor lift to reach the wall surfaces and protect the new floor the school had installed? Easy! Our team brought out plywood sheets that we laid down on the floor to drive the lift on. We got the equipment in place and did not put a scratch on the new floor.
Now, the stripes match the color and font of the court floor graphics perfectly. In fact, these graphics look as if they had been done together. Moreover, these high school gym wall graphics tie together the space’s ambiance. The client loved the end result and has already invited us to return for additional projects.
