A couple of years ago, the City of Buena Park asked our shop to design, produce, and install an electrical box vinyl wrap for Firehouse 61. Not too long ago, the client contacted us again and requested additional vinyl wraps for electrical boxes in Orange County, CA. Here is what we did.
Designing Custom Electrical Box Wraps
The City of Buena Park provided us with the artwork officials wanted to see on their electrical boxes. Therefore, what do we mean when we say that we designed the product? Easy! The specs we received consisted of the graphic and color palette. However, our graphic artist had to work out how to translate the specs into a product that could wrap a three-dimensional object.
The vinyl had to place the city logo in the bottom left corner, while decorative portions of the graphics had to fit logically on the structures. Besides that, we had to adjust the image we received to fit onto the boxes.
From an Ugly Utility Box to a Pretty Piece of Sidewalk Art
The electrical boxes do not look nice. They add little curb appeal to an area. Moreover, you find them at each intersection with a stoplight since they control these signals. After resizing the images and printing them in the shop, we headed out to the targeted boxes. Technicians cleaned them and prepared them for installation.
Next, they expertly wrapped the utility boxes with the material. Look closely, and you notice that the wraps are perfectly straight, with the Buena Park logo ideally positioned. Also, the vinyl covers all box elements, some of which are a little challenging. Cases in point are the vents or access panels. The finished product looks great and boosts the appearance of the sidewalk. So far, we have wrapped three boxes for Buena Park.
Printed Vinyl Wraps For Electrical Boxes are Catching on in Popularity!
Do you remember the project we did for the City of La Mirada? They ordered vinyl wraps on city traffic control boxes. La Mirada held a student art contest and provided us with the winning students’ artwork. In all, we wrapped six boxes for this city. As more city councils and neighborhood organizations see how quick and easy it is to beautify a space with a budget-friendly setup, they request custom electrical box wraps.
By the way, you do not have to be a city to request that we wrap an unsightly utility box. We have also worked with school districts looking for ways to dress up these structures on their properties. The goal was to add eye candy, create a friendly atmosphere, and minimize the visibility of utility structures.
