HOSA Technology, in Buena Park, CA recently updated their company logo with a new look.  Shortly afterwards, they contacted us at Superior Signs and Graphics about updating their current building sign.  HOSA is situated in a light industrial park that does not get a lot of nighttime traffic, so after a brief consultation we decided that a non-illuminated sign would fit their needs the best. Their old building sign with the now defunct logo was located at the top left corner of the building, which was not the most visible spot on the building due to their off street landscaping.  Additionally the focal point of the building was in the front center, an area that has a darker color to create a visual façade, and where all visitors and employees pass by when entering the building. We helped them choose a sign material and colors that would complement their logo and the location where it would be mounted.  The choice was 3” thick gatorfoam with a brushed metal face.  Gatorfoam is a weatherproof closed cell foam that adds depth and mass to signs without the weight or cost of metals.  When painted the same silver color as the brushed metal face, this sign looks like a solid metal sign…especially when mounted 30 feet up in the air. Based upon the wall space that we were working with, we also decided upon a 7’ wide x 4’ tall logo size.  When centered on the façade location we had targeted, that size was perfect to command attention but not overpower.  The size also allowed us to have the logo portion of the sign produced as a one piece unit with no seams required. Installation required a crane and stud mounting, but the surprisingly light gatorfoam structure of the sign made the install easier and less dangerous than had we used other materials.  We had our install team remove the old logo sign while they were there, as well as patching and painting the marks from the old sign’s original install. The finished product looks spectacular!  The color contrast, placement and design of the sign really make it pop.  The clients at HOSA Technology were extremely satisfied with the entire process, and especially the end result, which now adds a touch of class to their Buena Park home!
