Our Lexus before and after the live vehicle wrap[/caption]
We did a live vehicle wrap at our recent Grand Opening event at our new Buena Park facilities. The vehicle we wrapped was our 1997 Lexus ES300. Our intent was to use our car to advertise our custom business signs as well as our car and truck wraps. Our garage is large enough for us to wrap several vehicles at a time, so we decided to devote a portion of the garage to a live vehicle wrap during our Grand Opening event.
The design intent for our Lexus was to grab the attention of fellow drivers with a really cool design, get our company name out there, and yet not overdo it with too much advertising and lettering on the vehicle. Our Lexus has much less advertising space on the body than a typical commercial vehicle anyway, and we took that into consideration. We had to remember we were advertising our wrap designs and fit/finish of our wrap installation as well as our custom sign business. With that in mind we decided to use a black carbon fiber printed design that starts out pure black and then slowly adds carbon fiber design across the fenders and hood. We added a diagonal stripe up the side of the car that starts out white and turns gray toward the rear window. We would finish with Spiderman blue on the back half of the vehicle with crisscrossing pinstripes that resemble a spider web without the curves. Finally we added our company name in logo format on both rear doors and topped it off with our phone number and web address.
The materials we used were premium 3M cast wrap vinyl and 3M cast gloss laminate. The vinyl is rated for 8 years use and has air release as well as Controltac repositionability for a clean installation. Other less expensive materials are often used by other shops to try to get the lowest quote on the job, but we feel it is important to use the same premium materials on our company vehicle that we recommend to our customers. This wrap will maintain its great look for years to come.
The final wrap design has a sharp attention getting look that shows off our design capabilities, and a great installation as well as advertising our total sign business. Those that previously knew the white Lexus cannot believe it is the same vehicle! The attached pictures show the before and after views of our once white Lexus!
