Gun Training to Increase Comfort and Proficiency
Personal defense with a firearm is a right we all enjoy in America. With this right, you must also understand how to properly operate your weapon responsibly, and becoming proficient with a firearm isn’t something you can do overnight.
At our modern gun range in Tempe, we seek to help people gain the necessary skills to defend themselves with confidence. Our facility houses state-of-the-art shooting ranges, tactical areas, classrooms, and simulators, which can all be used to help marksmen of all experience levels practice and improve their gun skills and confidence.
One of our goals is to increase responsible and effective gun use in our local area, and the main way we accomplish this is by offering training sessions which span a wide range of gun topics. Perhaps our most popular classes involve personal defense, and if you are looking to increase your knowledge of guns and your ability to defend yourself and your loved ones, then these classes are for you. In the sections to follow, we will discuss a few different skills we help you learn in our defensive shooting classes.
Seamless Firearm Operation
In a real-world use-of-force situation, you must know exactly how to operate your firearm in order to give yourself the best chance to succeed. While many people want to go straight to shooting, and target practice absolutely has its place, it’s important to intimately understand how your gun works, how to care for it, and the best way to responsibly use and store it to keep innocent people safe. In our training sessions, we cover how to effectively draw your firearm, sighting in your weapon, loading and unloading procedures, caring for your weapon, and other skills revolving around the operation of your gun. By understanding how your firearm works, you can act quickly in any situation.
Accuracy and Firing Proficiency
As we mentioned earlier, target practice and proficiency when shooting a gun are obviously important, as well as operating it smoothly. When we train people on self-defense, we want to make sure they understand some best practices when firing a gun. These include how to grip the weapon, the proper shooting stance, how to align your shot and fire with accuracy, trigger skills, and much more. These skills can be taught in the classroom and perfected on the range under the supervision of our expert team.
When to Use Force
While understanding how your gun works and shooting with accuracy are essential skills, sometimes people unwisely ignore the mental aspect of personal defense. In our training sessions, we also discuss the responsibility you have as a gun owner to be able to quickly assess a situation and act decisively to protect yourself and others. This mental component is just as important as physical skills when it comes to defending yourself.
Our team of trainers is standing by and ready to help you become comfortable and proficient at defense with a firearm.
