Family firearm safety classes let families learn about responsible gun ownership together. These classes are designed to educate participants of all ages and teach safe handling, storage, and safety with firearms. Training as a family enables participants to train each member of the household so that everyone knows how to use a gun safely. Tactical Gun Range offers these classes to promote community safety.
Tailored Training for All Family Members
Family firearm safety classes are unique in accommodating all ages and experience levels. They are age-appropriate courses for adults and children. Basic safety principles for young children or advanced handling techniques for adults are taught to keep people safe around firearms.
Basic Firearm Safety Rules
Four universal safety rules form the basis for firearm safety classes at Tactical Gun Range: always treat every firearm as if it is loaded, never point a firearm at anything you are not willing to destroy, keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot, and be sure of your target and what is beyond it. These rules are the basis for safe firearm practices and are reinforced throughout the class to ensure all are aware of their importance, even family members.
Safe Firearm Storage Practices
When not in use, gun storage is an important aspect of family firearm safety. These classes cover safe storage to avoid unauthorized access by children or unskilled individuals. Participants learn about locking devices, safes, and other devices for securing firearms and how to store ammunition separately from firearms. Such lessons help keep firearms out of reach and prevent them from being discharged accidentally.
Hands-On Training with Firearms
Families learn firearm safety by training with real firearms at Tactical Gun Range. With this practical experience, participants learn how to handle, load, unload, and clear firearms even with little or no experience. Handling the firearms with certified instructors gives participants the confidence and competence to use firearms safely should the need ever arise.
Family firearm safety classes help build a family understanding of firearm responsibility and safety. With professional instruction, family members learn to store and handle firearms safely in their homes. Learning together builds family bonds and creates a culture of safety that can be passed on. At Tactical Gun Range, families find a supportive, informative environment for learning these critical skills.
