Between all the different calibers, styles and brands on the market today, consumers have never had more choice when it comes to picking their guns. Which is a good thing for buyers because they can get exactly what they want, but it can also be hard to comb through all the options to find the right one.
Our team set out to help by “test driving” some of the top guns on the market today and leaving their feedback to hopefully narrow down your choices.

Every one of our instructors are NRA certified and many of them have a background in either military service or law enforcement, making them ideal candidates to test out some of today’s best guns and give us their honest feedback.
The gun we focused on today was the P07 9MM by CZ. CZ is a Czech company who produced one of the most popular handguns of all time, the P07’s older brother, the CZ75. The P07 is part of CZ’s effort to develop additional options of 9mm’s to compliment the CZ75 and give consumers more lines to choose from.
Overall, the P07 performed well during our testing, and our group all agreed it provides great value for the price point. Read on to learn about our favorite features of this popular carry weapon.
The P07 is a striker-fired pistol and it’s evident from the first pull or the trigger. It’s a light trigger but at the same time it’s easy to control and is effective when emptying the magazine, which holds 15 rounds from the factory.
We did love the P07’s customizable backstraps, which can be changed to fit almost any size hands comfortably. While this was a plus, some of our team did report some slipping on the grip when their hands were sweaty.
If you’re looking for a carry weapon, the P07 is a good candidate because of its compact size and polymer frame. As soon as you pick it up, you’ll notice the light weight, but it still has a solid feel and seems like a durable weapon.
Two other helpful features make the gun practical in any situation. First, the Omega trigger system interlocks without the use of tools, so disassembly for cleaning is a breeze. Also, a decocker is standard for safe lowering of the gun without the need to fire.
