Learn if Kimber’s 1911-style pistol is right for you
Kimber is a well-established producer of firearms right here in the USA. They have an extensive catalog of guns including pistols, revolvers and rifles, and their reputation for making a quality firearm is well-known in the gun owner community.
Kimber’s .45 auto offerings are expensive and well regarded, so we gathered feedback from our team of experts to create a review for people who might be considering adding a Kimber to their arsenal.

With a full stock of guns and ammo, state-of-the-art technology, shooting lanes and a team of experts, we’re your one stop shop for anything related to firearms.
We employ NRA-certified instructors, many of whom have a background in real world gun use in the military and/or law enforcement, today we’re happy to provide some feedback on Kimber’s 1911-style pistols.
While Kimber’s .45’s have a hefty price tag, they feature the craftsmanship and track record to back up the cost. These firearms are made exclusively in America at Kimber’s Troy, Alabama headquarters and they aren’t just assembled here, Kimber manufacturers the components of the gun in-house.
The end result is a reliable and long-lasting pistol which has been trusted by some of the most respected groups in the nation. LAPD’s SWAT team chose Kimber’s 1911-style pistols to outfit their servicemen, and the US Marines also trust these American-made firearms.
Kimber produces several different styles of a .45ACP pistol with different features to suit the visual and practical preferences of potential buyers. Even though they can have some unique features, here are a few of our favorite features included on every model.
The first thing many will notice when they pick up one of Kimber’s .45 autos is how lightweight they are compared to comparable models made by other manufacturers. These firearms are made with a lightweight aluminum frame, making them an ideal gun for concealed carry.
This decrease in weight without sacrificing accuracy or longevity combined with the gun’s shorter profile means you can quickly point and shoot with confidence. On the range, it produced solid results but the lighter frame does cause the gun to recoil more than heavier models.
Even though these guns feature a short barrel, they are easy to grip because of the 2” wide base which fits easily in your hand regardless of hand size, grip style or handedness.
If you’re considering a handgun for personal defense or concealed carrying, Kimber’s line of .45 ACPs could be right for you if you value an American-made product from start to finish and are looking for a lightweight and easy to use pistol.
