Bringing your family to the range can be difficult if they’ve never shot a firearm before. From teaching your kids how to shoot to making sure they stay safe and follow range rules, what was supposed to be a fun adventure can quickly become stressful.
That’s why we recommend that all families enroll in our family & youth firearm training classes before coming to the range. In these classes our expert instructors can take the stress of teaching off your shoulders and make sure you and your kids are ready to go to the range without stress.
We recommend that all youth and family begin with our Family & Youth Prearedness Course, Glock Maintenance. In this introductory course you and your kids will learn everything you need to know about maintaining a Glock pistol. Much of this information can be applied to other firearms.
Taught by our certified Glock armorer, you will get a comprehensive guide to assembly, disassembly, and basic field stripping. Students will also learn how to insstall drop-in items such as a GHOST or ZEV TECH.
To ensure as much individual time as possible with the instructor, we cap this class size at 10 students. You are required to bring your own Glock pistol. A cleaning kit is recommended but not necessary and a disassembly tool will be provided.
Family Firearm Safety
Transitioning to our Family Protection Courses the first course is Family Firearm Safety. This class continues to teach the basics of firearms, beginning with storage and handling. Students in this course are taught the five rules of safe gun handling and storage, and what to do if they find a firearm in someone else’s home.
The majority of the time in this class will focus on your individual family needs regarding firearm safety in the home. It will cover how to be prepared from the perspective of a family with children. We highly encourage you to take time with our expert instructors to ensure your kids are informed and your family firearm safety plan is up-to-date.
Youth Introduction to Firearms
Our second class in Family Protection Courses is specifically designed for kids that have no shooting experience. Each child must have a parent accompany them but your shooting experience does not matter for the content covered in this class.
As a kid in this class you will learn the basics of universal firearm safety, firearm operation, and marksmanship. Kids will get to practice all of these skills in both dry practice and live-fire on our range.
Parents in this course will learn how to best coach your kid in shooting and keep them safe on the range. As a parent you will learn how to toe the line between having fun and keeping your family safe.
