Introduction to Handguns
Our first class is meant for the absolute beginning handgun enthusiast. In this 3-hour course students will learn the fundamentals and basics of shooting a handgun. We recommend this class even to advanced shooters who have experience in other firearms but are new to handguns. With in-class instruction and live fire practice, it’s the ultimate handguns basics you need.
Handgun Fundamentals
The second handgun class we offer builds directly on the skills and knowledge learned in the introduction class. It focuses on bringing beginning shooters up to the intermediate level with skill improvement. At the end of this class students will be able to shoot consistent 2” groupings from 21ft. away.
Practical Handgun
Continuing up the ladder of handgun classes, this 5-hour instruction is designed for shooters with prior experience and skillset with handguns. It continues to build on all the fundamentals of shooting and improving students’ technique and accuracy. However, this handgun covers more practical shooting aspects such as shooter movement and advanced level techniques that are regularly used in the field. With a classroom session, hands-on dry-fire, and live-fire drills students learn to deal with stressful situations and malfunctions in the field.
Pistol Mounted Optics
Handguns come with many options for mounted optics, and they can be very useful if the handler knows how to use them. In this course students and instructors go through all sorts of sights comparing different manufacturers of reflective sights. Students will learn how to choose the right sight for the situation. They will also achieve confidence through our “task, condition, skills” set and systematic methodology of building these skills and mindsets. Our goal is to have students in this course emerge stronger in their skills and confidence, more alert, and ready to respond to any situation or common threat appropriately.
Defensive Shooting Fundamentals
Our defensive shooting fundamentals series of classes starts at the very beginning of handgun defensive shooting and works up to more advanced maneuvers. It builds on the skills learned in the practical handgun course. A combination of classroom work, hands-on dry practice, and live-fire drills all combine to create confidence in defensive shooting.
Off-site Courses
We have also partnered with CowTown Range to be able to offer off-site handgun training classes as well. These are more suited to advanced shooters looking to put their skills to the practical test. Our three different courses simulate outdoor shooting and practical situations that shooters may encounter. This includes low-light or no-light situations, shooting around the home, or defensive pistol operations when you are physically impaired. We highly recommend checking these out too!
