Vedere University consistently sets a high standard. Master of Science in Applied Data Science & Generative AI goes beyond a technical degree. Vedere runs this program from Tampa, but you can join us completely online.
A Purpose-Built Pathway
Designed under the direction of Dr. David Lopez, a data-science veteran with experience at IBM, KPMG, and the Alan Turing Institute, the program adopts a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model recognized for building real-world competencies. Forget rote memorization. Students here jump into real problems, try out their theories with code, and share what they learn just like seasoned pros. How the Program Flows
The 36-credit sequence unfolds in three structured stages, layering skills deliberately:- Stage 1 – Foundations. Students gain essential programming ability in Python for Data Science 1 & 2 and statistical reasoning through Math for Data Science 1 & 2. Understanding data becomes second nature. With Jupyter Notebooks, they quickly go from raw figures to clear, engaging stories everyone can follow.
- Stage 2 – Advanced Analytics. From beginner lessons to advanced studies, expect options like: keep building your Python skills for data. Your Third Data Math Class, and gain clearer insights to pick the right path. Vedere helps with data setup, making things efficient, and guiding business choices.
- Stage 3 – Intelligent Systems. Learners move into Machine Learning for Data Science 1 and a three-part Generative AI for Data Science sequence covering prompt engineering, LangChain, and secure-system design before culminating in the Capstone Project.
Skills That Translate to Industry
Graduates emerge fluent across three domains:- Analytical Competencies – Design experiments, build statistical models, and know when AI adds value.
- Technical Competencies – Acquire, clean, and manage massive datasets; apply machine learning for forecasting and classification; and assemble production-grade data pipelines.
- Communication Competencies – Visualize findings, collaborate across teams, and perform reproducible data analysis while being mindful of privacy and ethics.
100 Percent Online, 100 Percent Applied
Because Vedere’s programs are built for working professionals, every course is delivered online with asynchronous access and faculty feedback woven into each module. No matter where you're learning, Vedere’s project system pulls you right into the action. You'll team up on assignments and check code, practicing how real-world companies get things done. The Capstone Project serves as the bridge between coursework and career. Students integrate statistical modeling, programming, and AI ethics to solve a genuine organizational problem, sometimes one sourced directly from the Tampa tech and health innovation corridor surrounding Vedere’s base of operations.Admissions & Outcomes
Applicants typically hold a bachelor’s degree with a 3.0 GPA and some quantitative background. The investment: 36 credits at $444 per credit (5,984 total). The reward: career-ready expertise that translates immediately to roles such as data scientist, AI engineer, or business analyst.
