Here at Prairie Fire Signs and Graphics we recently were awarded the task to recreate two very large sign faces in an existing monument sign with a cabinet. The customer, West Haven Baptist Church is a significantly large religious organization nestled in Tonganoxie, KS. West Haven Baptist’s amenities include nurseries where each child is checked in at a nursery station. West Haven uses the “Kid Check” system (https://www.kidcheck.com) that allows you to check in remotely using an app. West Haven also has a monitor outside the check in desk where parents can view their child and the classroom. Also, West Haven’s Children’s Church is for children in kindergarten through second grade during the worship service. The mission is to share the truth of God’s Word in an effective way at an appropriate age level. By the end of 2018, West Haven will have motion sensitive cameras in all classrooms and nursery room.
West Haven Baptist’s original sign faces were very simple but cluttered with a lot of information that was always subject to change. For example, the sign faces contained information on hours of operation and the website URL was relatively small. The good crew at West Haven knew they had to make a change so they called Prairie Fire to the rescue.
West Haven’s sign cabinet was a large 120” x 72”. After design consultation and coming to a design that fits the customer’s needs and wants, we used 2 large acrylic sheets, one per side, and printed directly to them using UV ink. The sign originally used fluorescent lighting for illumination and we swapped out all lamps with LED’s to get that “glow. In addition, we had their address of the building routed out and affixed to the brick monument around the sign on both sides.
After completion, West Haven and Prairie were both extremely satisfied with the consultation, design, fabrication, and installation. West Haven now feels their new sign conveys their brand image more prominently and the surface area of the sign is being utilized more effectively.
