Hose Replacement Services for your BMW
Trust Grubb Co. to Help You!
BMWs are some of the most reliable and luxurious cars available in the world today. They are renowned for their excellent performance, and the high-end technology used in their manufacturing processes.
The engines in luxury cars are now becoming more and more compact, which somehow leads to the rise in the engine’s internal temperature. Moreover, a vehicle is full of vapors and fluids that need to be displaced – hence cars are built with numerous hoses.
You have probably seen a few pipes or hoses in your car, but did you know that each one of them is designed for a different and unique purpose? Yes, that’s right. Each hose in your vehicle is designed for a different purpose; while some are for the vacuum line, the other might be working for your coolant system; however, as useful as they are, sometimes the hoses in our vehicles become cracked and break and are unable to serve their purpose. Therefore, your car might need a hose replacement service.
Therefore, if you think your BMW’s hose is cracked up and needs replacement, you need to contact a trustable hose replacement service. But before that, let’s get to know the different types of hoses present in your car.
Types of Hoses
1. Coolant Hose
There are two types of coolant hoses: heater hose and radiator hose. Each of them is made of the same material but is different in size. The heater hose is about 5/8 and ¾ inches in diameter, while the radiator hose is around 1 inch to 3 inches in diameter. There are two different types of heater hoses: standard and heavy-duty – both are lined with nylon cords to make them extra durable. On the other hand, radiator hoses are lined with chords, but they are molded into different shapes.
2. Vacuum Hose
Most modern cars still use vacuum hoses. It can handle up to 25 psi and is designed for windshield washers, vacuum, and radiators overflow. A vacuum line can be made of PVC, rubber, or silicone.
3. A/C Hose
A/C hose, as its name suggests, is for the air conditioning system, which requires high-pressure hoses to hold the refrigerant inside the system. These shoes are very similar to the high-pressure hydraulic hoses, but they have braided nylon instead of a braided steel layer inside it – to give them strength and flexibility. There are two types of AC hoses – barrier and non-barrier.
4. Hydraulic Hose
Your car has several hydraulic systems such as brakes and power steering. These systems require high-pressure hoses that can handle over 2000 psi. These hoses are user-replaceable, but you require special equipment for them. Moreover, these hoses have special compressed fittings and are lined with braided steel to make them stiff and able to hold high pressures.
