I love cutting women’s hair – but sometimes they fall into the hair styling “Product Trap!”
- They don’t know how to use the right products for their hairstyle, and
- The cut they choose won’t work well with their hair type.
So to compensate for the wrong hairstyle, women turn to using a variety of products that won’t help the hairstyle or the cut.

I teach my clients to “layer” products, essentially creating a “cocktail” of products to create the perfect recipe for a good hair day!
Some styling products need to target areas of their hair like the roots or dry ends. Here’s where women tend to “over goop” their hair with too much product. Instead, always start small and add if needed.
Products should fit the hair. When I etch a client’s hair with my razor cut, they need a dry wax or taffy product for definition. For my long hair clients, I use mousse or root lift products to texturize the hair, and then Moroccon Oil on the ends.
Don’t get caught dragging down your new cut! Be selective and do your homework for your type of hair!
