Spanish speaking patient Antonio A. came in with left knee pain while playing with dog in East Bay. He was examined by Dr. Maria and found he twisted the knee joint while pulling the ligaments which caused unbearable pain.  He had difficulty walking, sitting to standing increased the pain, and swelling was apparent. He applied a pain relieving topical, and iced, it gave him temporary relief but the pain returned again.  During the examination, it was found he had sprained his left foot many times before which lead to an unstable knee.  Dr. Maria specializes in extremity adjustments utilizing specific gentle techniques to realign the knee joint, and also adjusted the ankle.  Immediately Antonio A. felt relief with the knee and ankle correction, and the swelling started to reduce.  He was able to walk better, and was very happy!!! He will come back for a follow up next week to continue his treatments along with rehab exercises.  He will be returning to his home in Mexico and walk like he used to.  In fact, we were able to take care of a chronic ankle sprain as well!!
