Many women find their labor shorter and experience less discomfort if they’ve received chiropractic care. The Webster technique is a specific & modified chiropractic adjustment making it easier and comfortable for the pregnant mom. The pelvic area consists of the sacrum, iliums (hips), lumbar regions. During the period of rapid development, hormonal changes, laxity of connective ligaments, and shifting of weight-bearing structures, as the center of gravity changes, it puts stress to the spine. Pelvic misalignments may cause hip rotation imbalance and stress on the round ligament, increasing tension on the uterus and lower back. The developing fetus may reposition in breech (head upward). The Webster technique is a gentle alignment of the pelvis, and trigger point to the round ligament allowing the uterus to relax, therefore allowing the fetus to turn the head downward, ready for delivery. Chiropractic may help normalize the nervous system function, decrease lowerback pain, and deliveries have been noticed to be more comfortable, and faster!!!
