Internal channel letter signs add flair and decoration to your office while also labeling different areas or rooms. They come in various colors and styles, so you will find the perfect one for your business. Additionally, they are illuminated or non-illuminated, depending on your needs.

What are Channel Letter Signs?

Channel letter signs are three-dimensional letters mounted to the exterior or interior of a building. They are made from various materials, including aluminum, plastic, and steel. Channel letters are often illuminated with LEDs, which makes them visible at night or in low-light conditions.

How Are Channel Letter Signs Used Internally?

  • In the reception area to make an impact upon entering
  • In a conference room to add some decoration and make the room more inviting
  • In an office to label different departments or areas
  • In a warehouse or retail store to help with labeling departments

How Are Channel Letter Signs Illuminated

  • Front-lit: These are the most common type of illuminated channel letter signs. The letters are lit internally, so the light shines through the face of the letter.
  • Back-lit: To create a subtle glow to the letters, lighting elements are added to the back of the letters creating a halo effect. The reflection of the light against the wall makes a beautiful and elegant look.
  • Open-lit: When an internally lit channel letter sign is created without a front plate, it is considered an open-lit channel letter sign. This option is popular for indoor channel letter signs as it creates a unique, retro feel.

Non-Illuminated Channel Letters

Not all channel letters need to be illuminated. If you are looking for a more simplistic look, non-illuminated channel letter signs may be the right option for you. Non-illuminated channel letter signs are made from the same materials as illuminated channel letter signs but without the addition of lighting elements.

  • Flat cut-out letters are the most popular style for indoor office signs; these are cut from a sheet of aluminum or acrylic material and have a flat face giving them a flush, modern look. These are most popular for Interior office signs, wayfinding, and directional signs in corporate buildings.
  • Reverse channel letters are less common but offer a unique three-dimensional look. These are created by mounting the face of the letter to the wall and having the return (the portion of the letter creating depth) protrude from the wall.
