Which Signs are Best for Churches and Large Temple

BY: ,
Churches and large temples have a few things in common. They are both places of worship, and they are both typically large buildings. Because of this, they need various types of signs on the premises. Building Signs A building sign is a large, typically illuminated, sign mounted to the outside of a building. The purpose of a building sign is to identify the building/company to passersby. A building sign should include the name of the organization, as well a logo and other graphics.
  • A monument sign is freestanding, typically made from stone, brick, and concrete. It can be very simple, or quite elaborate.
  • Channel letters are three-dimensional letters mounted on the sides of buildings. Channel letters are typically illuminated and can be made from various materials, with aluminum being the most common.
  • A blade sign is a hanging sign mounted on the wall of a building. The sign is installed perpendicular to the wall and projects out from the building, so people can see the sign from down the street. For this reason, blade signs are often used in conjunction with other signs, so the business name can be read from down the street as well as when facing the front of the building.
Wayfinding Signs Wayfinding signs help people navigate their way around a building. They are typically located near entrances and exits, as well as in hallways and near stairwells. Wayfinding sign products include:
  • Directional signs are designed to point people to their intended destination. They can be freestanding and mounted on a wall.
  • Wall signs often include directional arrows. Wall signs are made from various materials, including aluminum and acrylic.
ADA Signs ADA signs are required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to provide accessibility information for people with disabilities. They are typically located near entrances, exits, and restrooms. ADA signs should include the symbol for accessibility and the organization's name and contact information. Some ADA signs may consist of braille or other accessible features. Some sign products which work best for this application include:
  • Braille signs are required by the ADA to provide accessible information for visually impaired people. Braille signs are made from a variety of materials and can be illuminated and non-illuminated.
  • Tactile signs are also required by the ADA to provide accessible information for visually impaired people. Tactile signs are typically made from metal and plastic and are embossed and/or engraved.
Window Graphics Window graphics are applied to the windows of a building. They are used for various purposes, including advertising, branding, and wayfinding. Window graphics can include the name of the religious establishment, logo, and other graphics and images. They are also ideal for creating the stained glass look at a fraction of the cost of real stained-glass windows.
  • Window decals are usually made from vinyl. They can be cut to any shape and size and applied to the inside and outside of windows. Decals adhere with a window-safe adhesive keeping them securely in place.
  • Window clings are like window decals, but they are applied only to the inside of windows and adhere via static. They are not recommended for external use due to the lack of adhesive.
