Construction is vital to the expansion of communities, and has been a driver of growth in this country. The success of a project can be greatly enhanced by getting the local community actively involved in a project.  A good example of this is The San Bernardino Community College District is undergoing an extensive construction program at both campuses. Thanks to Braughton Construction Inc., we had the opportunity to provide them with temporary construction signs for their project with The San Bernardino Community College. Construction signs are crucial to the public and are designed to be as simple and easy to understand as possible. Below are some ideas to consider:   Color in signs: Color in signs can be more crucial than the image on the sign itself. Color is one of the first things that the brain will process, quickly allowing us to understand the message that we are supposed to follow.  For example, red is a color that immediately signifies danger and this is true for signs. Yellow implies cautions, warning that there is a nearby hazard or slight danger. Green is related to safety, while blue is for general information.   Shape of signs: Shape is as important as color and shape we immediately identify as soon as eye contact is made. Circular signs are considered regulatory, representing that an order is in force either there is a prohibition in place or an action is required. Triangular signs are warnings, indicating caution or that danger is near. Square shapes are used for information signs, either emergency or general. Just think about all the signs you see during the day and how they fit into the detail outlined above. Fire exit signs, no smoking signs, road signs and disabled signs are well-known signs we see on a daily basis.  Construction signs follow the same rules of color and shape mentioned above. Common signs include safety information, such as the requirement of hard hats, protective footwear and no entry in operated areas.
