Recently Service Team Of Professionals of Oregon was called out to clean a home where extensive smoke damage had occurred. The clients had gone out of town on vacation and left a family member in charge of watching over their property and taking care of their pets. On one of the days the caretaker was visiting the home they lit a fire in the wood stove and failed to turn off the central air system and adjust the damper. Unfortunately, the system made quick work of distributing the smoke throughout the home, creating a stubborn, pungent odor that clung to the walls, carpet, furnishings and family’s clothing.
Our team of professionals quickly moved in to start packing the client’s belongings for transportation and cleaning at our facility. Every valuable, dish and hard furnishing was then carefully hand washed and sanitized by a trained member of our team. Smoke had also permeated and stained the client’s clothing, draperies and soft goods. Those too were inventoried, collected, and professionally restored. After all of the contents were removed from the home we cleaned and sanitized the carpeting and flooring to better than pre-loss condition! The client was also happy to have all of her walls freshly repainted. Finally, we cleaned and sealed the duct system.
All of our team’s hard work produced a beautifully clean home with no residual smoke odor and an extremely happy customer who enthusiastically thanked us for a job well done!
