Project: Removal of Old Sign and Installation of New Sign

Most people have seen a sign like the one in the image to the left, with letters that are placed by hand, sometimes inside of a case, or behind a clear plastic panel. It might conjure up images of your high school growing up, or downtown Vegas in the 70s. And once in a while you still see them today around town.
The problem with these types of signs is they just look dated. The Quarry Lane School, located in Pleasanton, CA, wanted us to help them get a new, updated sign. We met them at a networking mixer that was held by the chamber here in Pleasanton. We got to talking and found out that they had come to the point where it was time to get rid of the old sign.
In the image below, you can see the new sign that we installed. We first had to remove two signs, a sandblasted wooden sign, and a backlit sign. Both of their old signs were mounted onto a concrete pedestal, so the new sign needed to be mounted to the same pedestal as well. 
To make the sign we used a 60”h x 88”w aluminum composite material which we framed with end caps. Then we mounted black acrylic letters for the text that reads “The Quarry Lane School” and “Established in 1991” underneath. We choose this particular material because it has a great professional look, and it’s also very durable against the elements.
