Brignole and Ghiri Insurance has been a fixture in the Temescal community for more than 90 years and has proudly served the insurance needs of Oakland and all of the East Bay since 1925. Our well trained and dedicated staff is eager to help our clients maneuver through the insurance world's complexity. Times are changing in California, and finding the right insurance policy can be challenging. With our experience and relationships with insurance carriers, we help make the process less painful. Office hours are from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Our personal lines staff is working from home, and our commercial lines staff is in the office. A bit of history.

Back in 1925, two enterprising young men, Joseph Brignole, Sr. and Aurelio Ghiri, left their native Italy for America, eventually settling in Oakland, California.  Together, they established an insurance and real estate business known as the Amer-Italo Company, located at 4919 Telegraph Avenue.  There, they prospered and grew, and in 1961, the company moved to a larger office a few blocks away, at 4685 Telegraph Avenue.  It has been a landmark in the Temescal area ever since. Brignole and Ghiri has operated under the same family ownership for three generations, over 90 consecutive years.  Joseph Brignole, Jr. joined the firm in 1958, after graduating from St. Mary's College and a tour of military service, and he remains active in the business to this day.               Joseph Brignole, Sr.                                                                                             Aurelio Ghiri

Today. And tomorrow.

One of Brignole and Ghiri's most important strengths comes from truly knowing the community it services.  Overseeing the insurance needs for three generations of the same family is not unusual.  This deep understanding fosters the excellent personal service for which B&G is known. Son-in-law Aaron joined the firm in 2011, bringing his expertise in the retail hardware and home improvement industry.  While Brignole & Ghiri's main focus remains serving the personal and commercial insurance needs of the community, Aaron's expertise created a new niche for the agency. Brignole and Ghiri is a full-service property and casualty insurance agency offering personal lines insurance, including, auto, home, renter, motorcycle, earthquake, life, and commercial lines insurance, including, business owners policy (BOP), property & liability, workers' compensation, commercial auto, professional liability, and umbrella.
