These symptoms suggest possible problems occurring with your fuel system and, more specifically, fuel pressure.
Let's talk about diagnosing the problem. You have a vehicle where the engine just doesn't want to crank, or maybe it hesitates for a moment. The place to start would be looking at the fuel pressure: the fuel pump, the lines, and the filters. Taking these steps can help you identify the issue and get back on the road safely.
The first thing you should check when diagnosing a possible fuel problem is your fuel pressures. You have to have a good functioning fuel pump sending unit. To begin this test, you will need an assistant to help you out. It is a very simple procedure and doesn't take any special equipment.
Have your partner sit inside the vehicle. They should insert the key and turn it to the "on" position, but there's no need to crank the engine. What you’re trying to do here is listen for a very faint humming noise that indicates the fuel pump is operating. While they’re doing that, you will need to get safely underneath the vehicle, positioned near the fuel tank.
