Make sure you have a fire extinguisher, especially near the kitchen. The National Fire Protection Agency said that almost half the fires in a house start in the kitchen.
Fire Extinguishers have an expiry date, so make sure you get it replaced once it expires so you can use it when the need arises.
Safe Habits to Practice
Scented candles are so calming and perfect to light up at the end of the day or for date nights at home. But never leave candles unattended, and do not place them near curtains that could flow into the fire or any other flammable items like alcohol or perfumes. If you smoke, avoid doing it inside the house. But if you smoke on the premises, keep an ashtray for smoke butts and ash, so it doesn’t fall onto carpets and potentially catch fire.
