Interstate Parking manages the parking lots at the Wisconsin State Fair and on a normal day they may see over 100,000 cars. They have the main lots that surround the fair grounds but also the race track parking. But most times the number of cars aren’t the problem. The problem is trying to find employees to work and then to train the employees on where everything is when using the track parking. Customers frequently ask where one lot is or if they can enter the grounds from a certain lot. One of the ways that we were able to overcome this challenge is to print a number of these 30″ decals and placing them on the ground. But if 100,000 cars drive over these and who knows how many people walking over these, won’t they become damaged very quickly? Not necessarily so. When we started working on this we realized we needed something very tough that could be printed on AND complied with all slip guidelines as the last thing we wanted to do was to install something that people could slip on.
We found a product that meets all of these guidelines and then some. The aluminum based product was engineered for this exact purpose. It is highly textured and requires no laminate and complies with all slip standards in both wet and dry conditions. The product holds ink perfectly and is a great base to print directly to the surface of the material. But what about the material peeling up? The product won’t because they use an acrylic adhesive that bonds to the ground so it won’t peel or lift. The only way it’s coming up is if someone takes a torch to it and that isn’t likely. Plus, the material is reflective so any amount of light will reflect off of the decals. And at 30″ each, these decals will provide the correct information to the employees for the length of the fair and help guide customers to their destination in a very efficient manner.
