Custom Printed Perforated Window Film for Good Shepherd’s School in West Allis,…

BY: Scott Kuehn, Optimum Signs

IMG_2187 Every year, Good Shepherd’s Evangelical Lutheran School graduates a small class of young people ready to move to high school fully prepared for the challenges that face them.  As one of the last projects of the year, the class designs a banner that represents a Bible phrase that embodies the class.  In the past, they would paint the inside of the window with the phrase, which had to be painted backwards from the inside. They only had two people that had the talent to do this and when one moved to another city, they now had a problem. When the principal for GS approached Optimum Signs about doing “something on the window” we had multiple ideas.

When we approach a project that gives us free range, we always like to relate the project back to our customer and the banner made perfect sense.  We took pictures of the banner and had our graphic designer draw the banner.  As you can see, it turned out beautifully.  The colors are bold and the text very readable and because we printed it on 50/50 perforated window film, you can see out from behind the banner.  The installation was really easy as we took detailed measurements of the windows prior to printing the film.  With most window installs, we always try to understand how long the design is expected to “live”.  In this case, only 60 days. So we didn’t laminate the film because the ink we use has characteristics that prevent fading and cracking.  Once the film was applied, we followed up with a razor knife to trim the edges and some heat from a torch and a squeegee and the job was complete.

The number of compliments that we received from this job was impressive.  Everything from “the banner for the window is awesome” and “how did you do that? It looks really good”.  This is just another example of how Optimum Signs works with our customers. Now, we are going to do this every year for the graduating class of Good Shepherd’s Evangelical Lutheran School.  So if you need custom printed window film to help deliver on your marketing message or just to turn an idea into an image, please call us at Optimum Signs.
