Nothing says summer in Wisconsin like the announcement that Summerfest is opening next week. Unless you manage all the parking lots around the Summerfest grounds and you haven’t gotten to reprinting all of your lot signs. Interstate Parking came to us a couple of months ago with a small project that their current sign company just didn’t want. It was too small. We stepped in to fill the void and after we finished the small job, they were so happy with what we did, they decided that they found a new sign company.
We started of with 8 double sided parking signs. These were 28″ x 48″. The idea was to print different prices on both sides so that when a special event happened they could just turn the sign around. This reduced their need for additional signs and the storage space for these signs. Which, if you have ever seen these lots, does not come with storage space. We manufactured these signs out of 3M’s IJ35C vinyl and mounted the material on 3MM Sintra. The Sintra gives Interstate the rigidity that they need yet the flexibility not to crack. As we printed the vinyl with our HP Latex printer, the ink is all but impervious to environmental conditions. These signs will look great all season and into next. We also were asked to take a number of the old signs that were printed on coroplast (corrugated plastic), and use them as a substrate for 36 pricing slugs. We only needed a rigid surface as all we were doing was affixing different prices to the front. This way they could change the price without having to have a new sign for each price. Let’s face it, a Rolling Stones concert would probably cost more to park than if The Vapors were performing. When our customer came to pick up the signs he commented on how deep the black looked and how bold the yellow was. He said that they were very happy with our work and that he would be back for more. They have gotten numerous positive customer comments on how great the lot signs looked!
