We love jobs that are a challenge and require a certain eye for quality. And this week was no different. This week we finished a complete color change on a Subaru Impreza using Avery SW900 Gloss Pearl White with a special print on the hood. Normally, color change film isn’t printed on because the film doesn’t give the ink a good surface to adhere to. We figured now is as good of a time to try it as any and with the HP Latex 360 printer, we felt pretty good about it. The print was beautiful and did required an additional 24 hours to cure before we laminated the piece. The car was already wrapped with a flat black matte so we needed to remove the film and clean up the adhesive that was left behind. Then we removed the bumpers, headlights, tail fin, tail lights, door handles and weather stripping to ensure no visible seams. Doing a color change this way is the only way to make sure that the wrap is absolutely flawless. It also took about 6 hours to prepare the car. The Avery SW900 went on like glass even though the Impreza has a large number of body lines. A little heat and 5 hours to assemble the car, and we have a wrap fit for a superhero. One of the biggest reasons we chose to use Avery Supreme Wrapping Film is because the adhesive was very consistent and it gave us a base to print on that sparkles in the sun. The quality of the film was very impressive and it handled with ease. This was a fun wrap to do. The results speak for themselves.
