When Racine Hyundai contacted us about applying cut graphics to their new customer shuttle, they had only two problems. The first was that the vehicle couldn’t be out of commission for more than an hour. The second was that Hyundai had to approve the design so they needed us to work with Hyundai’s compliance group on the design. Amazing that the other companies they spoke to declined the work. We love a challenge.
The first challenge we faced was that the SUV had to be available within an hour to transport customers or shuttle parts from other dealerships. Our facility is exactly 45 minutes north of the customer so this presented us the opportunity to do the install in the customers service bay. Our customer got to see the level of detail that goes into applying cut graphics. Everything from the alignment of the graphics to the proper spacing between the graphics and of course making sure that the design was level to the bottom of the doors (just a little insider secret). They were amazed at the number of times we would measure, adjust, re-measure, adjust and repeat until it was exactly correct.
The second challenge we faced was Hyundai’s compliance group. A group of extremely talented people who knew exactly what would fly and what would not. We presented 4 different designs to them and asked for their approval. They marked up each design with what would be acceptable and what wouldn’t be. So we took the approved potions of the four designs and put them together into one design and submitted the new design for their approval. The administrator we worked with said afterwards that no one had ever handled the process in this fashion. She was impressed.
