“……..please leave a message at the tone and I will return your call at my earliest convenience….” Really? This was a message that I received when I called a large, Fortune 20 company looking for support. When did customer service become about the company providing the services? I thought it was supposed to be about the customer and what they need. Remember? Exceeding customer expectations? Going the extra mile? WOW ‘ing the customer? Giving them a reason to spend more of their hard earned money with you?
We live in a society that promotes saying the right things but not holding the person or company responsible for delivering on that promise.
