Twelve Wines of Christmas Wine Walk December 12th - Socially Distanced Fun!

We really want to encourage everyone to sign up for the Twelve Wines of Christmas Wine Walk taking place Saturday, December 12th, right here in Downtown McKinney. This event will benefit the local Minuteman Disaster Response. We obviously will be participating! Ugly Sweaters are Encouraged!    Minuteman Disaster Response After witnessing first-hand the devastation caused by the EF5 tornado that struck Joplin, MO in May 2011, the hearts of a few men were ignited to create a volunteer group capable of responding to and serving the communities most affected. Minuteman Disaster Response (MDR) is a first-responder support team comprised of well-trained volunteers. MISSION STATEMENT "To save lives and provide assistance in the immediate aftermath of a disaster. We offer life-saving services at disaster scenes by providing well-trained, well-equipped, self-contained task forces and strike teams to assist in search and rescue, emergency medical operations, disaster scene management and emergency communications." WHAT DO THEY DO? Before disaster strikes, they forecast storms and prepare their teams for deployment. Their volunteers undergo basic training required for deployment that includes: -Resource Management -Debris Cleanup -First Aid -Emergency Communications -Command Structure and more. When the call comes to serve, their goal is to provide significant aid to disaster victims and emergency personnel utilizing the NIMS ICS management system. Advanced training volunteers also receive instruction on Caregiving to victims, Drone/UAV and Medical Ops. They are there before, during and after disaster strikes to serve communities who need help the most. They welcome all capable and willing men and women over the age of 18 to join the team. INFO ABOUT THE 2017 RESERVE LONGHORN SHIRAZ: VARIETAL: SHIRAZ VINTAGE: 2017 APPELLATION: CALIFORNIA/TEXAS The 2017 Triple ‘R’ Ranch Longhorn Shiraz display a day-bright, ruby red with purple hues in the center.  Heady aromas of blueberry and plum with a subtle note of white pepper rise in the glass.  This medium to full-bodied red is stainless steel aged, which keeps the varietal fruit pure.  On the palate comes a burst of red cherry, red currant and plum rounded out by a seamless finish.
