An Introduction | Sports Haven
THE BEGINNING - If you're a fan of the popular sitcom "How I Met Your Mother," then you probably remember the brilliantly insane idea Ted and Barney conceived when they said "We should run a Bar!" Throughout the series they continuously fantasize about opening up and running a Bar in NYC. Well, that's pretty much how the idea for our store came about. Our family was leasing a space in Downtown McKinney, TX and trying to figure out what to use it for. Several ideas were mentioned and quickly shot down, when suddenly the words 'We should start a Sports Apparel store" were uttered, and the rest is history!

Where Are We Located?
Sports Haven is located in the Historic Downtown District of McKinney, TX. As a suburb of the Dallas-Ft Worth metroplex, you'll find us about 32 miles north of Dallas. Established in 1848, McKinney has one of the oldest thriving historic downtowns in Texas. With more than 120 unique and independently-owned shops and over two dozen restaurants, there are plenty of options to satisfy shopping desires and appetites. Events such as McKinney Oktoberfest, Arts in Bloom, the July 4th Hometown Parade, Scare on the Square, and Home for the Holidays, along with seasonal wine and beer walks add up to McKinney being attractive to many citizens and visitors year-round.
