A custom monument sign serves the dual purpose of advertising your business, as well as directing customers and traffic to your business location.
Monument signs can be fabricated from many different types of materials including traditional materials such as wood, brick and concrete, as well as signage-specific materials such as aluminum, architectural foam, and acrylic. Most monument signs are constructed using a combination of several types of materials, such as this one that was built for Masimo company, which is located within an industrial business park in Irvine, CA. The monument side placed at the roadside helps direct customers to the proper location within the business park.
Most monument signs need a custom base foundation to house the sign. This one was made by building a custom frame at the right specifications, and then pouring concrete into the frame to set. Once the concrete hardened, the frame was removed and a new, clean base is now ready for the monument sign to be attached.
The monument sign cabinet was manufactured from aluminum framing and fitted with wiring and ballasts for internal lighting. The sign faces are acrylic panels with router cut-outs for the logo and letters, which are also manufactured from acrylic and “pushed through” the face of the sign to provide dimension as well as to allow the light out of the letters when the sign is lit up at night.
The aluminum sign cabinet is bolted to the concrete foundation, then the faces are fitted in to the framing to complete the sign.
