[caption id="attachment_2058" align="alignleft" width="300"] The McDonald Insurance and Financial Services custom logo sign beautifully contrasts with the grey wall in their reception area.[/caption] Custom dimensional logo signs can really make the branding of a company stand out in a memorable way. The possibilities are endless when you consider all of the design and fabrication material available. Why settle for a flat, boring sign when we can create one that really makes a lasting impression?     McDonald Insurance & Financial Services requested our expertise when they decided to create a brand new corporate logo sign in their Franklin, Tennessee office. The logo, brand colors, and design ideas were provided to us by the company’s founder, Brooks McDonald. While brainstorming about the artwork and fabrication details, we determined together that a blacklight would be the best way to show off the company's unique logo. A proof was created by our design team which gave a clear visualization of how the finished product would appear.       [caption id="attachment_2060" align="alignleft" width="300"] The proof that was presented to Mr. McDonald.[/caption] After receiving the approval from Mr. McDonald, we began to build the sign using a 60 x 22-inch base panel. We then added a 1/4 “ frosted acrylic material with a gradient background printed on the back of the base panel. This gave the appearance of light beams coming from the lantern on the company logo. Then a solid blue vinyl was applied to the back of the acrylic surface leaving the panes of the lantern exposed in order to allow the light to shine through. The lantern and large “McDONALD” letters were laser cut from  ¼” white and gray acrylic, and the smaller letters were also laser cut but from slightly thinner white acrylic. Once everything was cut, we built a template to ensure that the letters and the lantern were placed in their proper locations on the base panel.After we completed the custom logo sign, we used satin finished aluminum standoffs to attach it to the wall in the main lobby of their office. The standoffs were used to create a 3-D effect so the sign could be mounted leaving a space between the logo sign and the wall.      [gallery columns="2" size="medium" ids="2059,2063"] The most exciting part of this project was making the lantern come to life! We installed an LED light box directly on the back of the custom logo sign right behind the lantern’s window panes which allowed the light to shine directly through the frosted acrylic. The illumination of the lantern created a unique look that will stand out and remind people that McDonald Insurance and Financial Services is a one of a kind company that provides services that will outshine the rest!     [caption id="attachment_2061" align="aligncenter" width="300"] The final product.
