Achieve Professional Finishing Results With Our Digital Flatbed Cutter

BY: Your Name, Your Business

Digital flatbed cutters are well-known among sign industry professionals as one of our most useful and versatile pieces of equipment. This powerful machine allows us to provide a wide range of finishing and cutting solutions (including cutting, routing, punching, engraving, and plotting.) A flatbed cutter also allows us to make quick prototypes, as well as manufacture point-of-purchase (POP) display systems for retail settings.

We can cut thin materials such as vinyl using the kiss cut tool, which can be set to cut only the top layer of vinyl. This allows the release liner to remain underneath.

Custom Products

With the high-speed and accuracy of the flatbed cutter, we can cut and fabricate a variety of custom products in much less time than by hand. Sample products include:

  • vehicle wrap vinyl
  • custom vinyl sticker sheets
  • plastic luggage or lanyard tags
  • foam board signs
  • acrylic signs
  • cardboard signs
  • wood signs
  • PVC signs
  • aluminum composite signs
  • and more!

To create the majority of these projects, we start by printing on the vinyl material or hard substrate first using one of our high quality printers. When working with vinyl, we typically apply a laminate for extra protection. The product is then moved to our flatbed cutter for cutting and finishing.

Knives & Tools

Our flatbed cutter is set up to use a variety of tools and knives. Here are photos of the various tools we use for our custom projects.

  • Electronic Oscillating Knife – uses a vibrating knife to cut soft and medium density materials up to 1 mm thick.
  • V-Cut Tool – cuts complex designs from sandwich board and foam core materials. It can cut at 5 different angles.
  • Kiss Cut Tool – cuts through vinyl, but not through the release liner underneath (for stickers, vinyl wraps, etc.) Also cuts foil, films, paper, cardboard, and other thin materials.
  • Router – with high rotation up to 50,000 rpm. Cuts harder materials, such as plastic, acrylic and wood, as well as soft form materials. It can also do precise engraving.
  • Driven Rotary Tool – cuts textiles.

Our team uses the flatbed cutter’s pattern design software to create cut paths around graphics. We also have the capability to import cut files from graphic design software such as Adobe Illustrator.
