SkyHouse Nashville, a new luxury high-rise apartment complex, is proud to be a pet-friendly community. Many of their residents are dog lovers, so it’s only fitting that their dogs should receive star treatment! In order to accommodate their furry residents, SkyHouse built a dog walk. And we were honored to create custom architectural panels to add a decorative touch.
For more than a year, we had worked with SkyHouse on a number of branding projects. Some of those projects included leasing office graphics, retail window graphics, a garage decal, etched vinyl for the lobby, and more! So when the leasing company, Simpson Property Group, needed ideas to add a decorative touch to SkyHouse Nashville’s dog walk area, we were thrilled to get started!
To prepare, we measured the dog walk area and were careful to include the gradual slope in the floor. We took detailed photos of all the elements in the dog walk, including the artificial turf, the pet waste station, and watering station. We also took note of a large pipe and water valve (hidden behind a small square door) which were located between two protruding columns on one of the walls. We were told to plan for the panels to fit between the two columns.
As you can see, this dog walk needed a little personality!
Our dog-loving graphic designer, Torrence, then went to work! For the background, he used dog silhouettes and created a cute dog-inspired Nashville skyline, using bones, balls, and chew toys. These elements helped identify the location as ‘dogs only.’ He also designed a cutout in the panels for easy access to the hose. The remaining areas of the panels were filled in with a diagonal stripe pattern.

We provided this proof to the Simpson Property Group for approval. It’s amazing how much it looks like the finished product!
Once we received approval from Simpson Property Group, we were ready to start production. The 69” wide panels were fabricated from 1/4″ thick aluminum that was powder coated black. The design was cut into the two panels using a water jet. To attach the panels to the columns, we used angle brackets. We then attached the panels together in the center and fastened them to the wall behind.
Here are the beautiful architectural panels after installation! We’re super happy with the result and hope the furry residents at SkyHouse Nashville love their new dog walk!
