Project: Dimensional Acrylic Logo Signs Location: Smyrna, Tennessee Client: Lancaster Christian Academy We received an email a few months ago from a representative at Lancaster Christian Academy in Smyrna, Tennessee. They wanted two logo signs for the entrances at their school. They were debating between glass with an etched logo or acrylic with the school colors. Being a school, we new the acrylic was the perfect choice. Lancaster Christian Academy (LCA) has served the youth in the Smyrna area since 1997. They have quite a fascinating history! The original school, with just ten students, was located in a small house. Since then, it has grown into a wonderful establishment that educates children from 6 weeks of age through high school. The proof shows the colors and dimensions of the signs. Another proof page (not shown) gave information on how the signs would hang on the walls. The photo below shows one of the final signs as it hangs in an entrance to the school. As you can see, the cheerful sign turned out fantastic! [caption id="attachment_1092" align="aligncenter" width="300"]The acrylic in the school's brand colors really stands out against the neutral paint color on the entrance wall. The acrylic in the school's brand colors really stands out against the neutral paint color on the entrance wall.[/caption] Before we started fabricating the signs, we actually met with one of the LCA representatives so that she could see the materials and colors in person. In order to maximize the size of the signs, we router cut 1/4" clear acrylic backers into the shape of the logo. The clear acrylic was cut slightly larger than the colored pieces so that it would just barely show and add to the dimensional look. We laser cut the green, blue, red and orange pieces out of standard acrylic colors and then bonded them to the clear pieces. The white acrylic letters were mounted onto the colored pieces to complete the logo. After both signs were assembled, we transported them to the school and installed them at the entrances. These signs aren't going anywhere! Logo signs are such a simple and effective way to create brand awareness and, in this case, to help create a sense of pride and school spirit. Without logo signs, guests and visitors would have no idea they were in the right place! Acrylic logo signs can be very cost effective while still making a statement.
