The Russ Cook & Associates logo contains initials in rounded-off squares surrounded by an intricately designed circular filigree. Cut the circular logo medallion out of a copper sheet using a high powered water jet that contained water and a silica formula that is strong enough to cut through metal. The recesses in the logo sign were then made by painting a chemical on the areas of the sign that needed to be in relief to the filigree and letters that ate away at the metal. After the metal was indented enough, another agent was painted over the sign to stop the first chemical from continuing to eat away at the metal. The recessed areas were then painted black and the whole thing was covered in a clear sealant to protect the metal from wear over time.
In addition to the logo detail, the sign also includes brushed copper letters of the company name next to it. Because the logo medallion is fairly heavy (it clocked in at 45 pounds) our installers bolted it to the wall using the studs in the wall. The letters, on the other hand, are much lighter and we were able to put them up using a bit of adhesive. This method should help their sign last for a very long time while doing minimal damage to the wall itself.

Because of this, law firms almost universally choose heavy, routed metal signs or sign letters for their businesses because the high-quality, solid look of metal helps engender that trust they need from potential clients. The law offices of Russ Cook & Associates were no different when it came to their lobby sign! But despite going with a traditional copper material for their sign, the look of their interior lobby signage is still very unique and creative.
