Actual carbon fiber parts can be incredibly expensive and typically call for an invasive installation. Carbon fiber vinyl can be applied to virtually any surface, anywhere on the vehicle! “Gloss” carbon fiber has a clear-coat like covering to protect the actual fiber itself, while “dry” carbon fiber lacks the gloss finish and is a more expensive option. This allows you to replicate the actual “look” of carbon fiber in a much more affordable and practical way! Along with other vinyl products, they protect the paint and clear-coat of the paint beneath it – leaving the original paint in the same condition it was originally wrapped with!
One thing we like to keep in mind is making sure that matching pieces that are wrapped in carbon fiber vinyl have the actual carbon fiber “pattern” is facing the same direction for increased symmetry and visual appeal.
Each vinyl vender has a different style of carbon fiber. For example some have gloss carbon fiber, and others have dry carbon fiber styles. There are also different color carbon fibers available!
