An increasingly popular way to get great fast food is through food and catering trucks and vans. What a great way to mobilize a business! Recently we've seen a lot of food and catering trucks around Nashville and Franklin, all with promises all delicous eats and treats. But no one will know what you're all about unless you have custom graphics on your catering vehicle. We've got tips, tricks, and examples for custom signage on catering vans, trucks, and other vehicles.
If your vehicle is a solid color, like white, most of the time you don't need full vehicle wrap. You'll save a lot of money just by using fun custom graphics! Tilly's Cafe & Bakery on Wheels was a solid white color. We added vinyl graphics of their logo and company information on the sides, front, and back. If your vehicle is a neutral solid color like white, the graphics should be bright and bold, designed to catch the eye.

A hint on advertising: if you have a phone number and a website for your catering business, be sure to include both on the vehicle! A clear simple website url is easy for people to remember if they see your vehicle. Remember though, if you'd rather have people call, make the phone number the biggest and most visible, instead of your website or any other contact. Make sure your preferred method of contact is the easiest for people to see.
An great idea for changing up menus on a catering van - on the sides of Tilly's truck, we used a vinyl laminate material that can be written on with temporary marker and then wiped off, like a dry erase board. The result? Tilly can write the day's menu right on the van and change it the next day!
The Cafe Items menu can be changed when the folks at Tilly's write on their van with a specific type of temporary marker. Cool!
