Right behind "what will my sign cost?" is the popular question "when will my sign be ready?"  Given that there is (or should be!) a specific objective behind each custom commercial sign, we don't blame our clients for wanting to have their sign read to use as quickly as possible.  With the capabilities of large format printing, many promotional business signs and event signs including full color vinyl banners and foam board signs can be designed, printed and finished within a few hours.  It's fun to see and hear the reaction from customers when they get the call that their custom signs are ready to be picked up! Other outdoor business signs and indoor signs are more complex and require additional coordination.  For example, we recently completed a set of custom outdoor signs that consisted of a combination of routed sign shapes, laser-cut acrylic dimensional letters, metallic gold vinyl, and digitally printed vinyl.  The end result looks great, and not including design coordination with the client, the fabrication required approximately two weeks. We often find that a good portion of the lead time involved with a custom sign is directly related to the graphic design and interaction with our client.  We value our clients' input, and we allow them time to consider the design concepts we propose.  Some clients are able to decide quickly to approve a design and move forward, but others require additional design revisions.  The complexity of a given sign is usually an indicator of the amount of design interaction that the sign could likely require. As related example, a custom car wrap design might take 1-2 hours to put together an initial concept or two, with additional time spent revising the concept based on the client's input.  Once the car wrap design is agreed upon, we finish the effort by bringing all conceptual elements into a high resolution design format that will be suitable for manufacturing.  All told, a finished car wrap design might require 4-6 hours to address all the details. Whether your sign is a custom company lobby sign, an outdoor monument sign, a tradeshow booth, or some other type of promotional or permanent sign, we'll do our best to walk through the process and to estimate the time that will be required to design and fabricate the sign.  It's a process we enjoy doing with our clients, and we look forward to discussing your signage needs!
