You've got an idea for a new sign in your head ... or maybe on a napkin ... but sometimes it's a challenge to envision what the final product will look like.  I can relate! As a quick anecdotal story, I'll admit to something - early in the company's history, we had a customer looking for a rather simple sign to advertise their pancake breakfast fundraiser.  My engineering background quickly jumped to black and white text arranged along nice Cartesian coordinates.  Isn't that how everyone would do it? Thankfully for the customer's sake, our highly creative graphic artist stepped in to save the day.  What could have been a boring, blend-in-with-everything-else plain sign became a piece of art ... full color pancakes with butter and drizzling syrup ... eye catching and colorful text arrangements ... the works!  The customer was thrilled, and I learned not to jump to my nice, orderly black and white world as the right solution for effective signs. Even the most creative graphic artist, however, can't always imagine exactly what you're seeing in your thoughts.  Consequently, after gathering as much information as we can, we frequently provide a design concept or proof to help invoke some initial response.  Whether that response proves to be "love it!" or "mmm, not quite," these proofs are an effective way to communicate the design prior to going to production. We'll often work with smaller, lower-resolution artwork for these proofs in order to minimize the file size and load on the design computer.  Once the concept is approved, we address the high-resolution details and break apart larger designs as needed for the various production processes that might be required. Design software has unique capabilities to represent colors, proportions, shadows, lighting and even textures.  These capabilities aren't perfect and can only simulate three-dimensional effects, but they are able to communicate the details of a design remarkably well. In order to help our clients see our capabilities and to give them ideas for the various types of commercial signage, we regularly publish information on our Website and through our blog regarding our products and services. We want you and your thoughts to be an active part of the design process, so never hesitate to share your ideas or your honest feedback with us regarding our design proposals.  These are your signs, they represent your business, and we want them to be marketing and branding tools that you feel great about. Ready to discuss ideas for your business signs?  Call us at 615.595.6564 or send us E-mail at salesinfo_at_12pointsignworks.com.  We look forward to working together! 12-Point SignWorks provides custom business signs and commercial signage that will communicate your brand and your message to customers.
