Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards require that complete license numbers and lettering should be on all business vehicles. And all registration numbers and lettering should be on all water vehicles such as boats and yachts.   The purpose of this is for identification, in case of an emergency and it is the law.  This is similar to a license plate on your car. Each vehicle has its own regulations and law.

License Decals for Business Vehicles

D.O.T – the license letters and numbers have to be 1 ½ inches. The Font “San Serif” is the same as water vehicles. Also, the license letters and numbers have to be on the front signs of the vehicle.

Registration Decals for Boat or Yacht

Registration – the letters, numbers and letters have to be 3 inches. Also the letters, numbers and letters are with the same font,  and front of the signs of the vehicle.

The Lettering Process

To process the car decal/vehicle number and lettering, we follow the regulations and laws for the specific vehicle. When processing a car decal/vehicle numbers and lettering in one color, we cut individual numbers and lettering using our plotter, we then weed the letters and numbers, and put application tape over all of it.  We double check the location where to install the car decals/vehicle numbers and lettering and we install.

To install, we used masking tape to hold the numbers and lettering in place, we peeled back the backing paper and then we applied the car decals/vehicle numbers and lettering with the mighty squeegee.
