Last week we decided to remodel the bathroom in our office. When we moved in, the walls were bare as you would expect, very plain and business-like. . .
I went out one day and took pictures in a library. Soon our little 6 x 6 bathroom was known as a reading room. When you walked in, you saw shelves of books. . . It's been over a year since we did this, and I felt that we just needed to do a little something to improve our look. It was quite an attraction at our grand opening. We had several tiny images of Waldo that we were able to hide all over the office. A few were also in the bathroom. I also added a photoshopped version of the Waldo book to the shelves.
As I was thinking of ways to improve the showroom, I got the idea to make our bathroom into an undersea adventure. As you walk in, you enter the undersea adventure! A large turtle greets you on the far wall. As you look around, you see a variety of fish. When you look up, you see three divers! At that point, you realize you are on the floor of the ocean. . .
When we removed the old wrap, we found that the walls hadn't been primed before they were painted. This can cause a terrible problem for anything that might be attached to the new wall. The vinyl in this case came off with the paint in many areas. In our situation, it was a help, however, it could have presented a problem if we were hanging 3 dimensional letters, etc. New vinyl should always be washed with alcohol to ensure that the new media will stick.
The aquarium was printed and installed in vertical panels, and the ceiling was tiled. . . Our production manager, Vic Asperer, wouldn't have chosen the job of installing vinyl on the ceiling, however, he did a great job, and didn’t have a lot of difficulty. The worst part was the unevenness of the walls, and the fact that the walls weren’t very square. Overall, we all had a good time with this one!
