SYNOPSIS: I just saw a commercial about how “Maaco can give your old car a second chance”.  That’s what a wrap can do, too!

88F150Looking for good advertising for your business? I just saw a commercial about how “Maaco can give your old car a second chance”.  That’s what a wrap can do, too! Don’t know if you have seen our old truck around Concord, Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, etc. We bought it new at what is now Future Ford, in Concord, CA, in the summer of 1988. Then we drove up to Portland, OR (where our family was), and bought a camper shell in Clackamas, OR, and a tent at G. I. Joes Army Surplus store in Milwaukie, OR. Our girls were young enough so that we all fit in the front seat! We had a great time for the next few years, camping and traveling. The truck was also Lee’s commuter truck, back and forth to BART each weekday. He carried an umbrella in the place where hunters have a gun rack. We installed a protective dash cover and cloth seat covers, not to mention the important bed liner in back. Later, the “truck” became very popular as the “relocation vehicle”. We moved parents to their new home, as well as friends, and daughters. Daughters. . . to college, home from college, to a different location at college, then to an apartment after college, and to a few houses after they were married. . . The truck is an old friend. I have said many times, that the only way we will get rid of the truck is if I hire someone to steal it! It still makes Craig’s List pickups, Christmas deliveries to children of the less fortunate, and various other odd jobs and favors. Once, it was mistaken as “an old guy’s gardener truck” when Lee was picking up some free fill dirt for our back yard landscaping project at the local school. FordThis old friend was also the first thing we wrapped when we moved to our location at 1150 Burnett Ste B in Concord, CA. We used photos I had taken of Mt Diablo. The side photos are from a shot of Mt Diablo sunrise from Byron, CA. We used the foothills and marsh areas at the historic Doc Richardson home and area on the side of the truck, the back gate is wrapped with a view of the devil’s mountain from Lafayette, CA. To look at the truck, most people would think of it as a full wrap, however, we did not wrap the top of the cab, or the hood. We did not use any perf on the windows. This is actually a practical and affordable way to wrap for the highest visibility. Once the photo portion of the wrap was done, we added cut graphics for the informational portion of the wrap. Some of the letters are double thick with two colors to give the look of a drop shadow. This helps them stand out and be seen. . . I hope you have enjoyed my little bit of family history! When you come to visit us, just look around Willow Wick for the “truck”.
