Signs and graphics are all about building a brand, gaining market awareness and generating customers. A business that has been around for over 20 years often becomes a well-known entity in its community. And sometimes that’s enough for businesses to generate customers – based just on notoriety.
But what happens if you decide to move your business?
Or what happens if you have to move your business because your city’s population has changed and the number of customers in your market is no longer enough to support your business?
Well, then you need to start building your brand’s recognition again.
We got a call not too long ago from West Coast Flooring Center in Vista, California. They are a business that has been in San Marcos for over 20 years, and now has recently moved to Vista. They contacted us because they needed help with a new sign for their new location that would capture attention, let people know that they are there, and start building that all-important brand recognition – now in Vista!
West Coast flooring is a great company with many very satisfied customers, which is typically the case with a thriving business of over 20 years. So, you might think it would take quite a change for a successful business to want to move to a new city. What sealed the deal was West Coast Flooring’s great opportunity to buy their own building in Vista, and they had to take it.
In the pictures in this article you can see the illuminated channel letter exterior building sign that we made for them. We started with a site survey of the new location, taking photos and measurements. Then we provided design proofs so our client could see what their logo and new sign would look like, after being appropriately scaled for the space. This process includes keeping in mind the rules and regulations set forth for signage by the city of Vista. The permitting process often takes a lot of time and patience to complete, and this project was no exception.

West Coast Flooring first came to us about 3 years ago, when they needed graphics for their Ford Transit vehicles, part of their growing fleet of vehicles. Our relationship grew from there and they called us back to design interior signage and trade show displays. So, it was a pleasure to help them again with their relocation project’s new channel letter sign. We made a great looking sign for them and had it installed in time by their Grand Opening Deadline.
And since their building faces freeway 78, they also had us make them a huge “Grand Opening” building banner that measures 29’ long x 83”, to attract lots of new customers.
Congratulations to our friends at West Coast Flooring for their new building and location!
