As with any new store opening, timing is critical and budgets need to be managed. Opals & Gems Australia was opening a new location to their 56 year old family owned business and called on North Coast Signs to assist in establishing their premium brand image without breaking the bank. By working within the budget provided, North Coast Signs was able to retrofit the existing awnings with all new Sunbrella fabric with the company logo imprinted on the valance. In addition to replacing the existing awning frames with new awning covers we also installed a new sign face over their existing light box, seen in the image below.
The lighted sign seen in the image below was designed using ¼” thick clear acrylic. We then wrapped the acrylic in gloss black film that was die-cut to expose the store name across the center. Next new letters were cut from the same ¼” thick clear acrylic and applied to the sign face. The end result is a dimensional sign face with the premium gloss black look. This really gives the sign a high-end look with dimensional letters that, when illuminated at night, sparkle like the gems inside their store. The finishing touch was the use of black anodized spun aluminum caps, which feature a recessed design, to attach the sign to the original light box. The aluminum caps provide a very low-profile finish which are much more elegant than the typical large standoff caps.
The frosted vinyl used on the storefront glass, seen in the image above, provided the final detail to an elegant package that left the owners of the new store anxious to welcome their first customers to the new location. The overall design is elegant, clean, professional and beautiful.
And it didn’t break the bank!
