Since we have opened, one of our top priorities has been to find additional ways to drive sales into the business. We have tried all of the traditional and non-traditional ways, such as networking groups, Chambers of Commerce, Friends and Family, and the internet. In December we were approached by a good friend and customer, Gene Kerley, of Rick Tanner's Bar & Grill, to explore a local barter organization. We reviewed what Southern Barter Club (SBC) had to offer. The concept of to sell to customers who didn’t want to spend cash, but wanted to trade goods and services was intriguing to us. We also talked to other people we knew that were involved in SBC to get their take on it. Dannella Burnett of Oakwood Occasions told us about how she has done barter over the last couple of years and was able to expand her business through barter as well.
We took the leap and joined the club. The Team of Laurie Sossa, Cathy Santiago, and Josie Nelson immediately took us under their wings, and business started to flow our way. We have done a significant amount of business, but notonly in barter, but also in cash. Barter has allowed us to reach customers that we would not have found using the "normal" marketing efforts and has opened a new channel for our business.
We are now exploring ways of using our credit to defray our expenses, such as entertaining clients, marketing services, etc. We even used barter to book a Las Vegas show we will attend while we are at our convention in April. Barter has been a great way to expand our reach. If you are in the North Georgia area and want to explore this option, please feel free to contact the team.
