Los Angeles’ Loyola Marymount University is world-famous for its Loyola Law School and Frank R. Seaver College of Science and Engineering. But did you know that it also has a fantastic softball program? To help players hone their skills, the school built a practice facility. Indoor batting cages, a TV monitor, couches, and a clear view of the field via roll-up doors are just some of the amenities this facility provides. There was only one thing missing: ambiance.
Wall Graphics for School Athletic Facilities in Los Angeles County
To provide some wall space for the venue, carpenters put up eight-foot-tall plywood walls, which they then painted in the classic LMU blue. Unfortunately, the lack of wall décor led to a dark look and feel. It was at this time that the assistant coach contacted our specialists to discuss the design of wall wraps that would turn the atmosphere around.
With her help, we developed two large wraps that are 30 feet wide and a smaller one that is only eight feet wide. These are ideally sized for the walls you see when entering. Lettering on the wraps spells out, “One Pitch at a Time” and a collection of inspirational sayings like “Commit to Growth.” To heighten the decorative nature of these displays, we also added clear acrylic panels to one wall. They feature the pictures of each LMU Player of the Year.
We designed this display to offer enough room for 20 panels. So far, nine are in use, with the coach actually being featured in the first panel with an image of her during her tenure as a softball player for Loyola Marymount. On the other large wall with placed a graphic that features a collage of vintage team photos as well as images of current and prior players.
