Improvements to school districts and institutions
In summer 2014, we worked with IEMA at 9 school districts and 26 schools to install security window film at their campuses. These Illinois schools were utilizing a portion of 5 million in funds for repairs and improvements at their sites. They used the Illinois School Security Grant Program to help establish a baseline of security policy, procedures and guidelines. This applied to all Illinois public elementary, secondary and post-secondary schools. Both K-12 and college/university buildings used window films with durable, micro-layered, shatter/tear-resistant properties. The products are specifically designed to help hold glass fragments in place to reduce injury from loose or airborne glass. Scenarios such as severe weather, break-ins or violence are times when this product could save lives or save people and items from being injured or damaged respectively.
